Unfortunately, Amazon's plans for AirPlay 2 on existing devices are iffy at best. Amazon will also have built-in support for the company's own Alexa for hand-free communication and control. Of course, there are other options to play content on the TV. Just like other smart TVs, the new TVs from Amazon will have built-in streaming applications. Hopefully, that's not the case, and Amazon implements AirPlay 2 sooner rather than later.

Only iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices are capable of beaming content to TVs or other devices that are AirPlay 2 compatible. Of course, AirPlay 2 only really matters if users are within the Apple ecosystem. Even if a TV doesn't have AirPlay 2 built-in, Apple TV users have access to it. Of course, AirPlay 2 is built-in to Apple TV. AirPlay 2 has been available for a few years now and is built-in to a decent number of TVs. Amazon's new Fire TV Omni and 4-Series televisions will feature Apple's AirPlay 2 technology.
